It's almost the new year and I cannot be any more excited.
No matter how many people tell me that resolutions can start any time of the year, I still like treating things and myself anew on New Year's. It feels like a ritual of some sort--makes every little change official. No turning back.
But before I get carried away with NY, let me share some photos of our Noche Buena (English translation: Christmas dinner). We usually don't cook at Christmas Eve because we'd rather fatten ourselves than slave on cooking THEN fatten ourselves. My family's
lazy practical like that.
Being Asian and wishing to be Italian, I love mixing our cuisines on those two great cultures.
The photos below may not look Pinterest-ready but they sure are very yummy. My very healthy tummy can attest to that.
The holidays don't only mean being lazy all day--sleeping, eating, playing video games, sleeping again, eating again. I sure developed that routine myself but I try to insert some cleaning and organizing here and there.
I noticed how a few (okay, A LOT) of my accessories get tangled together because they all love each other so much. It's such a pain to untangle them in the morning when I need them. I tell you, these accessories make or break an outfit.
The before picture (something I'm not proud of):
Thank God for generous relatives and they gave Mom a utensil container as a Christmas gifts. It's very useful! Who said that a certain thing needs to only be used for the purpose they were made? I'll be using this one as a statement necklace container instead.
Voila! My necklaces still gets tangled (because of me rushing on mornings) but it's easier to fix this time. It's still not perfect and not the organization I had in mind but it's fine for now.
My boyfriend and I usually go out on Saturdays. He works very hard and not usually available on weekdays. He makes himself available for me but I don't want to impose since I know what we're working for is for the future.
So anyway, he can't spend Saturday with me for more than a few hours so we decided to just have breakfast at my favorite restaurant, Italianni's. It's Greenbelt branch is the best for me since it's so pretty and refreshing.
I spent a few hours on pampering myself by having a mani-pedi and having my eyebrows threaded. I'm fairly satisfied with the services from Let's Face It but there are times when I just regret going there. The therapists are too busy talking to each other to notice customers, there are "new" therapists and they seem to take out their anger on my eyebrows. ETC. The price is relatively cheap so when my frugal self comes in, I go there.
I am a happy little girl! My parents gave me an ipad mini for Christmas! I cannot get over it. It fits my hand perfectly. I don't get tired of holding it. It's always near me and I use it more than my laptop. That's why I can't schedule my posts anymore (hence the days of absence from blogging). I'm busy with playing Sims and Hay Day. It's so fun! :)
How is the holidays treating you? :)
